Accreditation ensures that a college or university meets the level of quality expected from a higher education institution. If the accrediting body is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), accreditation will also ensure that a college meets the regulatory requirements for students to participate in federal financial aid programs.
BCCC is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). MSCHE is recognized by USDE to assure students and the public of the educational quality for over 500 institutions of higher education.
On June 25, 2015, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaffirmed accreditation of Baltimore City Community College (BCCC).

BCCC is nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for the offering of the following degree programs: Accounting , Business Administration Transfer , Business Management , Business Marketing , and Computer Information Systems .
The Dental Hygiene Program is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission.
The Health Information Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).
The Nursing Programs are on the list of approved schools of nursing published by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Full accreditation of the Associate Degree in Nursing is from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
The Emergency Medical Services Program is an EMS Education Program approved by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems as required by the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR). The Baltimore City Community College EMS Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). The program has been placed on Probationary Accreditation as of January 18, 2024.
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education/American Physical Therapy Association (CAPTE/APTA).
The Respiratory Care Program is accredited by the Committee of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
The Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in cooperation with the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
