A Pre-Apprenticeship program in Construction Core will be offered by the college to recruit new applicants for the apprenticeship program. This is designed as an entry-level training experience to prepare potential candidates for interview/selection. For those not selected for the Registered Apprenticeship, the BCCC Career Center will prove career services and job placement support for students.
The Construction Core program prepares students using the NCCER CORE curriculum, establishing a foundation in construction skills and safety, and preparing students to move into the specialization area of choice. Topics covered will include: Basic Safety, Construction Math, Hand Tools, Power Tools, Construction Drawings, Basic Rigging, Materials Handling, and OSHA-10 certification.
