Transportation and Supply Chain Management Degree

 

The Transportation and Supply Chain Management program prepares students for jobs in the transportation and supply chain management industries. Emphasis is placed on supply chain logistics, freight,

and maritime transportation systems. The Transportation and Supply Chain Management program provides a pathway for students to fill a workforce gap in the transportation, distribution, maritime and supply chain

management industries. Students will have the options to obtain academic experience and industry credentials for their careers in the pivotal Maritime, Transportation, and Supply Chain industries.

 

Courses in the program qualify students to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree program in transportation, civil engineering, or supply chain management at a four-year College or University.

 

Suggested Sequence of Courses 

** All BCCC students must meet the College’s Computer Literacy requirements in order to receive a degree or a certificate. All first-time, full- and part-time degree and certificate seeking students are required to complete the PRE 100   course within the first six credits.

  • Describe the basic concepts of transportation management and its essential role in demand fulfillment.

  • Identify the key elements and processes in managing transportation operations and how they interact.

  • Identify principles and strategies for establishing efficient, effective, and sustainable transportation operations.

  • Explain the critical role of technology in managing transportation operations and product flows.

  • Define the requirements and challenges of planning and moving goods between countries.

  • Discuss how to assess the performance of transportation operations using standard metrics and frameworks.
