The Information Technology Basic Skills Certificate has been designed using existing courses from BCCC’s Computer Information Systems degree in response to discussions with the external stakeholders. It is a stackable certificate that will allow students to continue pursuit of a degree in information technology.
Suggested Sequence of Courses
** All BCCC students must meet the College’s Computer Literacy requirements in order to receive a degree or a certificate. All first-time, full- and part-time degree and certificate seeking students are required to complete the PRE 100 course within the first six credits.

Program Learning Outcomes

Information Systems/ Information Technology Foundations and Concepts: Students shall grasp the foundation concepts on integrated IT environment with applications to provide business solutions. -
Operating Systems: Students shall demonstrate the mastery of configuring and administering the computer operating systems (including networked computers) from the command prompt in a Windows-based and Linux/UNIX based environment. -
Computer Support: Students shall demonstrate how to provide help and advice by assisting non-IT users and organizations with computer software and hardware related problems. Total Semester Credits 16
