ABE 4305 - Reading I

This course is designed to improve students’ basic reading skills. The focus is on developing students’ pre- and while-reading strategies. Students will practice identifying topics, main idea, supporting details, and text references. They will also demonstrate an understanding of the use of definitions, causes and results, examples, sequencing, and comparisons and contrasts in reading texts. Students will utilize a variety of vocabulary-building strategies to improve their vocabulary skills.
