WITC 4636 - A+ Certification Preparation


80 hours
Designed for individuals pursuing professional development and training in preparation to receive the CompTIA A+ certification. An individual must pass two exams - CompTIA A+ 220-1101 and CompTIA A+ 220-1102 to be CompTIA A+ certified. For each exam, students will learn technology concepts to apply and practice through a series of hands-on and simulated activities that reinforce their learning. These exams measure necessary domain competencies an entry-level Information and Communication Technology professional must have. Comp TIA 1101 covers hardware, cloud software, the use of mobile devices, networking and technology. Comp TIA 1102 covers the use of operating systems, security, operational day-to-day skills and software.  his course covers the responsibilities of an IT Professional (soft skills such as customer service) and the fundamental concepts of computer hardware, software, security and networking technologies. Individuals will be able to apply troubleshooting skills to install, confi gure and maintain computer systems that are connected in a networked environment. Students will also learn how to identify and protect devices and networks, troubleshoot devices, explain the use of different networks and connections and identify malware and security problems. Expanded topics such as mobile and Microsoft Windows operating systems, OS X, Linux and client-side virtualization, desktop imaging, and deployment are also covered.
