HIT 232 - Computer Applications in Healthcare(2 credits) 30 lecture hours Prerequisites: HIT 121 Corequisites: HIT 151 Lab fee Passing this course with a “C” or better fulfills the College’s Computer Literacy Requirement. Students are oriented to computer applications in the healthcare system. Topics include computer information systems, the electronic health record, administrative information systems, clinical information systems, speech recognition, privacy and security, future of computers in healthcare, and software packages. The course also includes discussion boards on relevant topics for health information technology; internet assignments, homework and lab projects.
