Workforce Training: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program prepares individuals to enter the field of Paramedicine. This entry-level certification program leads to employment at the EMT-B level and/or continued studies to Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification. EMTs provide emergency medical assistance at the scene of an accident and transport sick and injured persons to medical facilities. EMTs work with Fire and EMS employees, but their role does not involve full supervisory duties or responsibilities.

Industry Certification
This 200-hour basic pre-hospital care provider course meets Maryland State and National  Registry of EMTs requirement leading to eligibility for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and will include the latest State of Maryland Medical Protocols for EMS Providers.

The following course modules are included:

  • EMT 1

  • EMT 2

Requirements:
  • Attend an information/orientation session

  • Ages 18 and over

  • Math & Reading Assessment
