SOC 120 - Introduction to the Science of Sociology(4 credits) Meets Category II General Education Requirements 60 lecture hours Prerequisites: ENG 82 or RENG 92 or appropriate course waivers or ACCUPLACER scores Lab fee The study of society is introduced with emphasis on sociological concepts, methods, and theories about social structure and processes. Included in this overview of sociology is the analysis of social organization, culture, socialization, social inequality, and social change. Current quantitative and qualitative scientific inquiry using computers is included. (Students completing SOC 120 should not take the three-credit introductory course SOC 101 .
