SGT 215 - Advanced and Specialized Procedures(3 credits) 30 lecture hours; 45 lab hours Prerequisites: AHP 135 ; BIO 212 ; SGT 201 ; SGT 205 Corequisites: AHP 110 ; PSY 101 ; SGT 210 Lab fee This course is the final semester of advanced surgical procedures and introduces the concepts of neurology, thoracic, cardiac, orthopedic, vascular, and transplant surgery. In addition to new concepts in surgical intervention, more complicated types of instrumentation are introduced. Students learn to anticipate the surgeon’s needs through the process of association and the identification of applied surgical patterns. Assigned observational visits, guided tours, guest lecturers, and clinical in-service presentations enhance and complement course content.
