SGT 205 - More Advanced Surgical Procedures(3 credits) 30 lecture hours; 45 laboratory hours Prerequisites: SGT 105 Corequisites: AHP 135 ; BIO 212 ; SGT 201 Lab fee This course is an introduction to more advanced surgical procedures. Surgical considerations involving the biliary tract, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecology, ophthalmology, and pediatrics are all discussed. In addition to new concepts in surgical intervention, more complicated types of instrumentation are introduced. Students learn to anticipate the surgeon’s needs through the process of association and the identification of applied surgical patterns. Assigned observational visits, guided tours, guest lecturers, and clinical in-service presentations enhance and complement course content.
