Biotechnology Degree (M145)
Students develop science laboratory technical skills in preparation for employment under the supervision of professional scientists in a variety of laboratory settings. The program can also serve as the first two years of preparation for a four-year school with a major in physical or biological sciences.
The second year prepares students for employment in scientific labs including biological and chemical labs in biotech companies or universities. On the job experience is in-built in the program via internships. The Biotechnology Program includes a state-of-theart technical research experience provided by local biotechnology companies and research facilities/ labs at local universities including University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Towson University and Johns Hopkins University.
Suggested Sequence of Courses
** All BCCC students must meet the College’s Computer Literacy requirements in order to receive a degree or a certificate. All first-time, full- and part-time degree and certificate seeking students are required to complete the PRE 100 course within the first six credits.
