Arts and Sciences Transfer Degree, Science Area of Concentration

The Associate of Science degree with Science Area of Concentration prepares students to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs in science at a four-year college or university. This degree is the first step toward readiness to pursue high-demand careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The bachelor’s degree in science prepares students for a variety of careers in industry, government, healthcare, and educational institutions. Some of the job opportunities open to graduates in science include:

Suggested Sequence of Courses

** All BCCC students must meet the College’s Computer Literacy requirements in order to receive a degree or a certificate. All first-time, full- and part-time degree and certificate seeking students are required to complete the PRE 100 course within the first six credits.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students will be expected to identify gross and microscopic anatomy of the excretory system - in lecture and LAB.
Students will be expected to explain the roles of excretory organs in the process of excreting waste products, regulating acid-base balance and blood volume - in lecture alone.
Students will be expected to identify gross and microscopic anatomy of the reproductive system - in lecture and LAB.
Students will be expected to explain the roles of reproductive organs in the process of embryology and child bearing.
