EDU 255 - Educational Assessment(3 credits) 45 lecture hours Prerequisites: ENG 101 This course deals with the full range of issues related to varied assessment tools and methods utilized in the educational process. This includes understanding the principles, issues, and appropriate utilization of standardized test data to provide useful information regarding student abilities and academic achievement. Students in the course will also learn how to use a variety of authentic classroom assessment techniques, processes, and instruments that can be used to guide instruction and improve student performance. They will also learn how to use data from state and local assessments to make educational decisions. Course participants will also learn effective methods of reporting assessment results to all the relevant stakeholders such as parents, school personnel, the community, and students.
