ESL 3505 - High Intermediate 72 hours This 72-hour course provides instruction aimed at adult English learners based on the results of the student’s CASAS placement exam. Students will be able to interpret and produce statements, questions, and commands in less familiar contexts and in greater detail; request information and express needs; engage in higher level conversations; and correctly use more complex grammatical structures, syntax, and lexicon. This course focuses on the use of the appropriate written and spoken language in informal and formal situations, especially suited in the context it emerges ; utilizing context clues and decoding skills in vocabulary development; identifying main ideas and details in prose text and in documents; and writing more detailed messages, notes, paragraphs, and letters
