ESL 3503 - Low Intermediate 72 hours This 72-hour course provides instruction targeted at adult English learners based on the results of the student’s CASAS placement exam. Students will take a more active role in recognizing and filling gaps in their linguistic knowledge of English. Instruction places greater emphasis on the production and comprehension of increasingly complex written and oral statements. As result, adult ELs are obligated to take a more active role in building vocabulary, applying grammatical structures in the correct tense, and interacting more frequently with native English speakers. Adult ELs gain linguistic confidence in their ability to produce spontaneous unscripted dialogue while taking advantage of context clues that appear in written and spoken texts.
